An RBI single by slugger Jose Abreu in the 11th inning gave the Chicago White Sox a 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers Saturday night. Reliever Nick Martinez had loaded the bases with no outs when he walked Dioner Navarro, hit Austin Jackson with a pitch and walked Adam Eaton. Martinez got Jimmy Rollins to hit a forceout at home plate, but Abreu got the walk-off hit.
After Chicago came back from a 2-1 deficit in the eighth to lead 3-2, Texas tied the game in the ninth when shortstop Elvis Andrus hit a sacrifice fly.
Texas starting pitcher Colby Lewis gave up one run and six hits in six innings. His Chicago counterpart Carlos Rodon left in the seventh after only allowing two hits, but the Rangers had two on the bases when Andrus hit a triple to score two runs and give his team the lead.
On Sunday, the White Sox go for a sweep with Mat Latos (3-0) taking the mound. He faces Rangers starter Derek Holland (2-0).
